The Evialis research center team innovates to constantly enhance livestock farms' zootechnical and economic competitive edge in terms of quality, safety, profitability and animal wellbeing.

Evialis allocates an annual budget of 3 million Euros to research and development. The group has chosen take the research initiative in order to provide its customers with products that perform to help them achieve their development objectives.

Research and development at Evialis, includes:

- a multi-disciplinary team of 35 scientists, technicians and animal keepers,
- an experimental station of 18 farm buildings, specialized by species,
- LAREAL, a cutting-edge food research and analysis laboratory,
- over 100 research agreements initiated every year for nutritional tests, zootechnical tests, palatability tests, as well as environmental programs,
- a documentation center networked to numerous international databases, to give technological, economic and regulatory tracking for all of the group's activities,
- the partner livestock farm network that validates the research center team results in the field,
- close and permanent cooperation with research institutes (INRA, ARVALIS Plant Institute, CIRAD, etc), National Veterinary Colleges, college and university laboratories, agricultural colleges and manufacturers in the animal nutrition sector, in France and abroad.

Through its research work, EVIALIS is constantly enhancing its product offer with real innovations. The most recent and most remarkable of these include:

- plant alternatives for growth factors
- natural immune system stimulators
- new ration standards for dairy cattle
- the fibrous feed concept to meet European wellbeing directives for calf feeding
- the creation of a large number of scientific references for the Prisma Nutritional Specialties range

Lareal, the core of group's scientific systems

A jewel in the research and development crown of EVIALIS, LAREAL (www.lareal.com) has a team of 50 PhDs, engineers and technicians experts in chemistry/biochemistry, molecular biology, microbiology, forage analysis and physical analysis. Already specialised in nutrition, pharmaceuticals, dietetics and health, it is now in the domain of human nutrition thanks to the development of its nutraceuticals activity. LAREAL’s internationally recognised scientists actively participate in French and international standards commissions: AFNOR, ISO, BIPEA, CEN, AOAC…

Certified ISO 17025 by the COFRAC (programme available on request), LAREAL is equipped with state-of the-art analytical technologies. These include a PCR (polymerase chain reaction) unit to detect and quantify GMOs, and ORAC value analysis to evaluate the anti-ageing capacity of food supplements. ORAC value is the reference analysis in neutraceuticals (health foods).
